Under federal law, junior and senior boys are required to register for the Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday, or as soon as they turn 17. (If you are only 17 when you register, the information is "held" and submitted on your 18th birthday.) If you fail to register, you are breaking the law and could be fined or sent to prison. This requirement needs to be met for any federal financial aid to be disbursed. |
